The Seraph
“Above him stood the Seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew” —Isaiah, 6:2
Created as a birthday present for the artist's partner, this painting draws inspiration from the awe-inspiring descriptions of Seraphim found in the Bible and other forms of media, and serves as a visual exploration of the profound and mystical qualities associated with these celestial entities.
Seraphim (meaning "The Burning Ones"), are celestial beings said to sing praises and serve as caretakers to the throne of God. The sacred, elusive, and breathtaking nature of these angelic beings is portrayed through the use of organic brushstrokes, with focus placed on capturing their form and the play of light, rather than intricate details. Additionally, high contrast values are employed to accentuate the luminosity of the halo surrounding the Seraph.
